In hyperprolactinemia, which induces hypogonadism, the excess prolactin interferes with secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, resulting in decreased testosterone and erectile dysfunction. Hyperprolactinemia caused by a pituitary tumor can be managed with surgery and/or a dopamine agonist
